How to Install Startup Blog Pro

Please follow these steps to install and activate Startup Blog Pro on your site:

Note: Startup Blog Pro is a plugin that works together with the Startup Blog theme. Please make sure you install and activate first to use Startup Blog Pro.

  1. Visit the Plugins menu in your admin dashboard
  2. Click the Add New button at the top of the screen
  3. Click the Upload Plugin button at the top of the screen
  4. Click the Choose File button and select the startup-blog-pro.zip file you received after your purchase
  5. Click the Install Now button
  6. Once the page reloads, click the Activate Plugin link to activate Startup Blog Pro

Startup Blog Pro has now been activated on your site.

I get an error message when I upload Startup Blog Pro

If you received the following message, this is due to uploading Startup Blog Pro through the Themes menu:

"The package could not be installed. The theme is missing the style.css stylesheet."

Startup Blog Pro should be uploaded through the Plugins menu as described in the steps above.

As a plugin, you don't have to worry about any of the issues that come with switching themes. All of the features will be added automatically without disrupting your site.

I don't have a "zipped" version of Startup Blog Pro

Some browsers, Safari in particular, will automatically unzip the "startup-blog-pro.zip" file and leave you with an "startup-blog-pro" folder.

To rezip, right-click the "startup-blog-pro" folder and click the "Compress startup-blog-pro" option. This will create a new startup-blog-pro.zip file you can upload.

I never received a copy of Startup Blog Pro

Please check your spam folder for an email titled, "Startup Blog Pro Download & Instructions". There will be a download link at the beginning of that email.
